Careers at Stella Nova
We’re a growing team on a big mission: To support the mental health of women and nonbinary professionals so they can succeed and thrive at work and at home.
I’m probably (ok, definitely) biased, but I believe that Stella Nova is a special place to work. And it’s special because of the team we’re building here. We’re a group of clinicians and professionals who share a common set of values and use them to drive the work that we do together everyday. We provide excellent care, based in research and delivered through an intersectional feminist lens. We believe that supporting our clients to care for their mental health doesn’t only heal individuals, but heals our communities too.
We also know that we can’t create healing spaces for our clients without first creating a healthy place for our employees to learn and grow. One of my reasons for founding Stella Nova was the experience of working in settings where client turnover was constant, demands for productivity were constantly increasing, and staff burnout was a chronic problem. (Ironically, this is a huge problem in our field!) Stella Nova aims to be a different kind of workplace; one where balance isn’t just a buzzword and employees aren’t expected to be therapy machines.
If you’re a stellar clinician who is looking to grow the next phase of your career, I invite you to apply for a place on our team today!

Our Clients
Stella Nova clients are ambitious and motivated professionals from a variety of backgrounds and industries, including tech, business, academia, the arts, healthcare, law, and many others. They range from graduate students to professionals at the peak of their careers, with the vast majority in their 20s, 30s, and 40s.
Our current client base is over 75% BIPOC identified, and over a quarter identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community. First- and second-generation immigrants and first-generation college graduates make up a large proportion of our diverse clientele.
Common concerns that our clients bring to therapy include anxiety and stress management, relationship concerns, workplace and career issues, life transitions, navigating complex family dynamics, and depression. Many are also healing from trauma, including experiences of oppression or discrimination in their personal or professional lives. We see a variety of short- and long-term cases, with the average Stella Nova client being seen for about 16 sessions.
In addition to serving our core client demographic, Stella Nova therapists are encouraged to build their own niche based around their unique clinical interests and expertise. We’ll work with you to build a caseload of ideal-fit clients, which our therapists find is one of the most rewarding parts of the job.
